Abstract Different microstructures of the same polymer-modified bitumen (PMB) were obtained by subjecting modified with styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) copolymer to isothermal annealing at various temperatures. The effects morphology on rheological properties SBS-modified investigated within high-temperature range. PMB quantitatively evaluated using image analysis. A dynamic shear rheometer was used measure parameters samples and perform multiple stress creep recovery (MSCR) test. quantitative basis could be established which discuss relationship between rheology. analysis indicated that conditioning evidently led a difference in microstructure samples. Variation thermal history is demonstrated practical way vary raw materials formulation. Compared two-phase morphology, single-phase tended have narrower linear viscoelastic (LVE) region PMB. Within LVE region, especially low frequencies, homogenous can store more energy when experiencing loadings elastic. Outside based MSCR test results, assist reaching higher percentage strain after period.
